I love take care of my hands, specially my nails.
Recently I got a new manicure tool! The Neutrogena Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream.
What makes this Neutrogena classic better than the rest?
Well, Just one dab repairs 7 signs of damage: Dryness, chapping, splitting nails, dry cuticles, scaliness and roughness. It's the first hand cream to heal with concentrated glycerin, keeping manicured hands looking beautiful.
This Long-lasting thick formula is available in Original and Fragrance-free, and have a suggested retail price of $4.99.
I tried this product in my regular manicure routine and here are the steps of "How to get a healthy - fashionable - nails":
1) Remove any prior nail polish with a nail polish remover. (I prefer a "Strengthening" nail polish remover since help soften your cuticles and add strength and resiliency to your nails.) *If you don't have any nail polish, please proceed on with the next step.
2) Soak your nails in some warm water for 5 to 10 minutes. Pat dry.
3) Rub some cuticle cream into cuticles and gently push them back with a cuticle pusher/hoof stick. (I use the Cuccio Naturalé apple cuticle remover with Apple Alpha Hydroxy Fruit Acid.) *DO NOT cut your cuticles, because is painful, may cause infections and your nails grow slowly.
4) Get the nail cutters and shape your nails into a U-shape or a 'squoval'. Cut off any hangnails.
5) Soak your nails in the lemon juice for about 5 minutes. This cure will make your fingernails healthy. Pat dry.
6) Apply a good quantities of hand cream and massage. (You can try Neutrogena Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream - Original)
7) Then proceed towards shaping your nails. You can shape your nails in either of these 4 basic shapes: round, square, oval and pointed. The shape of the nail should conform to the shape of finger. File your nails in one direction. *NEVER in a back and forth motion! (I like to use Revlon Emery Boards)
8) Clean under the nails with the end of a cuticle pusher/hoof stick.
9) Buff your nails with a shiner. (I use Revlon CrazyShine)
10) Again apply hand cream and massage. (You can try Neutrogena Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream - Original)
11) Apply a layer of base coat, 2 layers of colored polish, and a layer of top coat. (For base coat I use Tough Cookie By Orly, The New Black "Haze" nail polish and for this review I use Butter London "Matte Finish")
After your nail polish is dry, make sure to apply frequently hand cream, in this case, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream - Original to keep your manicured hands looking beautiful! Here is my hand at the end of this whole process
*TIPS*:
A) Never bite nails. It weakens them and that causes nails to break!
B) Do wear gloves to protect nails and cuticles from housework, gardening and washing dishes.
Definitely this hand cream will be in my manicure tool box, bath cabinet, purse, car, etc. After the first use, you can feel a change in your hands. This thick formula stick very well, does not leave a greasy feeling and the scent is very pleasant. My husband uses it almost every night after his hands were exposed to cold weather. Also I like the price and the fact that the 2oz product is good for 200 uses!
Just a remark: This product won the "2012 good Housekeeping Seal award"
